We’re Enjoying the Sunshine!

We’re ducking out early today and the above photo should be a pretty good clue as to why. Enjoying the last warm days of the year and catching the last game of the season of our beloved Giants.

We’ll see you next week where we’ll give the inside scoop on what to do with your old duds and textiles.

Don’t be jealous!

Meet Whistle & Flute

Meet Whistle & Flute, the latest generous fabric contributors to Piece x Piece. Founded in 2007 by Yoon Chang (above) and (camera shy) Je-won Hwang, Whistle & Flute is a brand from NYC that combines modern femininity with a kiss of masculine inspiration. Last time I was in NYC I got a chance to swing by the W&F studio and meet these lovely ladies, which was just like hanging out with a couple of girlfriends, they were super cool!

The beauty of their collections are obviously clear but the true allure is also in the details. With delicate ties, special stitching and eye catching cutouts, you won’t find anything else like it…we know, we’ve looked.

Whistle & Flute takes its name from cockney rhyming slang and it also pays homage to their husbands who happen to both be from jolly ol’ England. Cheers to them!

If you want to know more about Whistle & Flute (and we know you do.) Check out http://www.whistleflute.com

Thank you ladies, for contributing your gorgeous fabrics to Piece x Piece. We LOVE them!

Piece x Piece – Year One!

Technically our anniversary is tomorrow the 15th, but why not get a jump on celebrating a day early! We are so thankful for such an amazing first year and couldn’t have done it without the love and support of all of you. Without you spreading the word, telling our story and wearing our clothing we simply would not be here a year later.

We also had the good fortune to get the attention of the above publications, and blogs, that also helped propel us even further. We’re thankful to them as well, and can’t wait to share with them and you the exciting developments coming down the pipeline very soon.

Stay tuned!

Fall is almost here…but not yet!

Well we know that we updated you a few weeks ago on the Indian Summer that has so nicely arrived right on schedule. But guess what’s filled the pages of September fashion magazines? Coats, coats and more coats! The 23rd will officially mark the first day of Autumn, the leaves will be changing color and so will our wardrobes, well, unless our Indian Summer decides to stick around…fingers crossed.

Just about everyone has hopped onto the pieced bandwagon. We’re seeing contrasting sleeves from 3.1 Phillip Lim, ZARA and the pages of the ASOS site are filled with pieced together treats! While we are all about piecing, as you know, I think we are still one of the only ones doing it with sustainability in mind. So here is a little eye candy for you to check out. And while the sun may be shining today I know the fog is just over the horizon just waiting to roll in that cold Autumn air.

All these coats and capes are so cute we almost want it to be cold outside! Well, almost…
